Ketchup With Us #42-Blog Hop

It's Ketchup With Us time again. I'm a little late this time round, it was a crazy week last week. Anyway I thought I would tell you about what it was like being a new mom nearly 20 years ago. I had a good pregnancy, worked right till the very end, luckily no swollen feet or hands. Ryan was a healthy 9 lbs. 5 ounces, I know big but diabetics like me always have large babies. Unfortunately at the age of 2 weeks he developed colic which lasted for nearly 4 months, and being a single mom it nearly wiped me out. At 7 months he had his first tooth which I never new he had because there was no crying or red cheeks to give me any hint, in fact he was the same with all his teeth. As the year went on I noticed he wasn't trying to stand or crawl, he could sit up but that was all he could do. Also he stopped pushing his toys around and started to scatter and throw them around, no playing. Another thing was he stopped smiling in pictures, just stared strait ahead with a vacant look in his eyes. To make a long story short, I didn't know it at the time, I was watching my little boy descend into his Autistic world. The thing was, I wouldn't know this for another 2 years when he was finally diagnosed. So if you ever see any of these signs in your baby tell his doctor right away because these signs won't go away as they get older, believe me, I know.
