Ketch Up With Us #39-Blog Hop
Today's Ketchup With Us choices from Mel & Michele are writing a 10 minute blog or re post a past blog. Since today is World Autism Awareness Day I thought writing a blog to update my son's progress with his Autism would be appropriate. If you have read any of my past blogs, and I hope you have, you will know that Ryan is on the moderate-severe spectrum which means that even though he can speak, that is as far as his abilities extend. So now we fast forward to this coming September, the beginning of his final school year, the Special Needs kids in the Catholic High Schools in Canada are in school until they are twenty one years old. This will be what they call his transition year from school to life beyond school, so even though Ryan will never work, he can't read or write, the teachers and others associated with these preparations will get him ready for entering into other programs outside of his routine schooling that he has been in for the past 15 years plus 3 years in daycare. It will be a huge transition for him, but with a lot of love and support, especially from me, I think we will make things right. He will miss his his friends and teachers and especially the school bus, he loves going to and from school on the bus I think all should go well in his final year. I will put everything in God's hands to guide us on the right path.

My beautiful boy |
I'm so proud of both of you guys. He's going to have a great year. Make the most of it and know in your heart that, while it will be different, he will adjust beautifully to the change coming in his life. How do I know? Because you've provided a very solid foundation for him. And look how well he's done so far. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking up with KetchupWithUs, Barbara.
