What happened to Summer?

Two weeks ago we had a major heatwave, temperatures in the 90's with a humidex that often took the temperature into the 100's. After living through this unbearable week relief came in the form of a major thunderstorm with 102 kilometer winds, at last! Well after that for the past week and today,we have barely reached 70 degrees and skies that look like the above picture. What happened? A cold front moved in and just won't go away! I wanted cooler temps. but not Fall temps. Anyway roll on August and warmer weather, PLEASE!!
