My All Time Favorite Job

I have decided to write about the best working job I ever had, supervising security at Lester B. Pearson Airport in Toronto. It started in 1987 when I first applied for the job. After a series of written and verbal tests I was hired as a Security Guard, we must all start somewhere, and my adventure began which took me over the next eight years. My day began at 5:30 am when I would report for work and end at 1:30 pm. At 5:30 it was mostly business men flying all over North America heading to boardrooms for important meetings only they understood. Their usual luggage were briefcases and laptop computers which they always insisted not be put through the viewing screen , saying this in a way that they thought we were a lot of idiots and some getting snippy when asked to turn it on so we could check to see the screen was clear (at that time that was all we had to check). Well, after 7 months of this I, for reasons unknown to me, was promoted to supervisor. It was a fun job that I enjoyed very much, met a lot of celebrities and sports teams even some politicians and one first lady, President Lyndon Johnson's wife, Ladybird Johnson, a truly nice lady. What brought an end to this great job was that I discovered I was expecting my son Ryan in 1994 and the company I was working for, Wackenhut Security, would be gone from the airport by the time I returned from maternity leave. It was an unusual job,but I must admit my all time favorite job I ever had, second only
No pictures in uniform, so here's me & my sweet boy
to being a mom which I don't feel is really a job, it's an honor. Sorry, I have no pictures of me in uniform, I don't know why either.
